Terms of Service
Last updated 6 May 2026
Welcome to Townhouse. These terms set out the agreement between you and Townhouse (“we”, “us”, “our”) when you use the Townhouse mobile app, the website at townhouse.app, and any related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Townhouse is a home-finding companion for buyers in London. You tell us what you’re looking for (your budget, areas, the kind of place, the time horizon) and we surface a daily shortlist of properties drawn from publicly available listings, alongside an assistant that can answer questions about a place. We are not an estate agent, a property portal, a financial adviser, or a mortgage broker.
2. Eligibility and account
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information when you sign up and to keep your account details up to date. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account, so keep your sign-in email and one-time codes to yourself. Let us know promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account.
3. How you use Townhouse
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own home search. You agree not to:
- scrape, copy, or republish property listings or other content;
- use the Service to build or train a competing product, model, or dataset;
- attempt to reverse engineer, interfere with, or place undue load on the Service;
- use the Service to harass agents, sellers, or anyone else, or for anything unlawful;
- impersonate someone else or misrepresent who you are when contacting agents or other third parties.
4. Property information
Townhouse aggregates property information from third-party sources such as estate agents’ websites and public records. We work hard to keep what you see accurate and up to date, but listings change often: prices, availability, descriptions, photos, floor areas, and any planning, flood-risk or sold-prices context can be incomplete or out of date by the time you read them. Treat everything in Townhouse as a starting point. Before you make any decision, whether an offer, a viewing or a financial commitment, verify the details directly with the listing agent and your own professional advisers (solicitor, surveyor, mortgage adviser).
5. The assistant and AI features
Parts of Townhouse use AI to help summarise listings, suggest places you might like, and answer questions in chat. AI output can be wrong, out of date, or miss important context. Don’t rely on it for legal, financial, structural, or planning advice. You’re responsible for sense-checking anything important before you act on it.
6. Your content
Anything you put into Townhouse stays yours. That includes your brief, your saved properties, the messages you send to the assistant, and any voice you choose to dictate. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store and process that content for the purpose of running and improving the Service for you. You confirm that you have the right to share whatever you put in.
7. Third parties
The Service relies on services provided by others, including Apple (App Store, push notifications), Mapbox (maps), and Anthropic (AI models). Their own terms apply when you use those parts of the Service. We’re not responsible for third-party content (like the original property listings) or for the actions of estate agents or sellers you choose to contact.
8. Intellectual property
The Townhouse name, logo, app, website, copy, design, and the way the Service hangs together are owned by us (or licensed to us) and protected by copyright and other rights. Property listing content belongs to the agents and other sources we draw it from. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you.
9. Changes to the Service
Townhouse is a young product and changes regularly. We may add, remove, or change features at any time. We may also need to take parts of the Service offline for maintenance or for legal reasons.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties, including those of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any property information is complete or accurate.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss of profits, loss of opportunity, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to £100.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using Townhouse and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used to abuse the Service, or where we’re required to by law.
13. Governing law
These terms and any dispute about them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales, except that if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
14. Changes to these terms
We’ll update these terms from time to time. When we make a material change we’ll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
